If you drop it like it's hot, what do you do if it is cold? They are talking about temperature I guess? What if it was a relative expression. Wouldn't you then drop it 'cause it's cold and pick it up 'cause it's hot? These urban lyrics, man, they really provoke one's thoughts.

If literally dropped their "it" like it was hot, I believe I would freak out cause their "it" is now on the floor....and it's obviously hot cause they dropped it like it ws hot, but still, it aint connected to em anymore. So what the hell does drop it like it's hot supposed to look like, usually that involves something slamming to the floor while I do a one legged indian dance blowing air on my now burned appendage. If you ask me that's not much of an attractive dance. If I saw a girl "droppin it like it was hot" I believe I would be laughing at her and looking for the short bus she came in on.
If an object is relatively too hot or too cold, likely relying heavily on both the specific heat and temperature, a normal person will discard (probably by dropping) it.
I like the video, "Toxic," because Britney backs it up in an airplane bathroom.
