Da Boat

OK, dropping a cool G, or close enough, sucks. Boats are money pits...BUT...I got to spend 2 hours on the water, cruised for a while and anchored and had dinner on the sand bar while listening to the classic rock station. We found a ton of coves on the NC side of Wylie too, and it should be much less crowded in that direction, not that any of it compares to Lake Norman's regular crap. I realized why all men want a boat so bad. And to think, I haven't even seen a regular weekend down there yet, much less a weekend like the upcoming one. Game on for the rest of the summer!

Open Flame

I'm really glad we don't allow smoking in our office. If so, I think our building would have exploded after today's lunch. The nasty just continues to build. If you get a Dunkin Donut in Charlotte tomorrow morning, and it taste funny, I appologize now. They are made for distribution next door and I am sure the contamination will leak over there at some point.

Just in Case

http://neubranderinc.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=23

Go to the link above if memories from April are fading away. I laughed out loud, and I posted half that stuff.

A fine round it was.

Number 18 has officially been posted to the top shelf. As we all know a 19th was on it's last legs but lost to those without due appreciation for the sweet nectar of Tennessee. We are in the final count down to move out with just over two weeks remaining, one being the week leading into my annual summer debacle of getting offically older. I saw kudos to my main partner in crime and all other who have dabbled in the goodness on the wall along the way. 2 a month is pretty much unattainable but we have a thrid roommate coming aboard and expect good things for the next year, and hopefully a new record. Should I venture to up the anty to 30 between three and friends? I'll let the readers decide.

The last half hour

So in the last half hour our apartment has become somewhat intersting for a Monday. I have 5 Brats boiling in Yeungling smothered in minced garlic, peppers and onions. Hoagie rolls, spicy mustard, and shredded cheese awaiting their hot tub removal. Yes, I do have a Budweiser product also awaiting. Did you expect anything less of me?
While the goodness is cooking the following banter occured and I quote:

Poot "Was Hellen Keller deaf or blind?"
Wha "Both!"
Poot "What was Anne Frank?"
Wha "A Jew!"

I am pretty sure we have reached our mental capacity for the day. Good thing I have softball later (no). I am really hoping it continues to rain so I can continue to drink.

Random Thoughts and Comments

I think I get the boat back this weekend. Just in time to go out a couple times and then back to school. Boats-holes in the water that you throw money in. Whoever came up with this saying pretty much summed it up correctly.
I have had two dates with the same girl in the past weekend. Not too bad though I think I got blown off a bit last night when we bumped into her at Fox and Hound. Hopefully something will work out for the weekend. A third date is basically virgin grounds for me at this point, so we will see. I think she may be using me though, seriously. Not that I am one to complain, I am just happy to be back in the game a bit.

It's Father's Day weekend and I am not going back to TN and I have no super reason not to go. Does that make me a bad son? I hope not.
Live @ 5 is fun but I wish they wouldn't play the music so loud. No one is there to actually here it. We just want something that goes well with beer/wine and conversation. It's no fun not hearing Skippy's intro line when he is trying to get a foot in the door for the group.
Have I done anything funny/stupid recently that I haven't mentioned on here. If so, I am struggling to keep this thing going though I believe there is some good stuff on the horizon with yearly debacle that is my birthday and the fact I am actively looking for new employment in the greater Charlotte area.

Bachelor Parties and the like

I am learning that I am involved in a devastatingly horrid downward spiral. My first experience attending was pretty lame event at Jillians. We watched college football through the fuss of the crappy satellite link, drank a little and maybe played a game or two of pool. The Best Man can be blamed for being lazy and not getting crap together earlier (Oct '02).
The second involved my first experience with the "Ball and Chain." We got the bachelor wickedly drunk at Broadway at the Beach, attended a fantastic palace of lesser morals, watched one guy bascially put a down payment on a premade family at said establishment, closed it down at 4AM and made the bachelor swim in the ocean at 4:30AM with just the ball and his boxers. Everyone was hungover until 5 the next day.
The third the ball and chain again madea solid appearance. Charleston was hte place of debauchary. The seafood place was tame but when the ball and the "Big Mistake" shirt made their appearances, all bets were off. The bachelor didn't make it late enough to swim or even attend a house of lesser morals. I don't think the rest of us were capable either. He couldn't hold down his own rehearsal dinner, the site of which made him run to the boys room.
Side note, as the spiral increases, I have become partially responsible for scheduling activities (two and three).
Party three, on my home turf, I do most of the planning. We are hte Saturday afternoon pool entertainment. It's amazing what 8 guys and two case of beer can do in an afternoon. Two hour cool down, the grilling out and beer pong. I punished myself. Sometimes being only marginally better than your opponents is a bigger curse than anything. We end up roaming the streets with Ball and Chain in tow. I serve up Coyote Ugly early and the rest is history. If you don't know check my linked blogs for details. Other bars happen but Ugly was bad. I am shocked Will was able to sit through his lap dance later that night. I would pay good money to have myself on video with the comment "If you want us to finish him, we can finish him, just let me know". I am sure Brad had to pull out his translation book though to know what I actually said. We make it home 3:30ish, people are dead to the world until 11 or later. The pool was good the next day. Baked the drinks right out.
Now my bigger concern. I know of at least two more that will have to be pulled off in the next year, I see them being just as bad, if not worse on the bachelor. I expect to have plenty of say in the matter too. Now for me. Should the day ever come around, I pretty much fear for my life. I have a feeling that like 15 people will be waiting in line just to "finish me off." My penance will be served, and it's gonna hurt but in the meantime the guys next in line are in trouble.

PLEEGHHHHTTT!

Today sucks. Today sucks bad. I am tired of doing what I am doing right now. The office is next to silent, I am doing the big bosses work while he is in Scotland for two weeks, the weather blows, and none of the jokers that will read this are getting in until late, so there will be no going out. To top it off the Marine Shop I took my boat to can't service it because of the engine type. I dropped it off last Wednesday, they just called this morning. Oh, and none of the Marina's have a slot to store my boat near the water...not even trailer spots, much less in water or dry dock storage. anyone want to dump some more tremendously fun news on me...let's get it all out of the way at once people!

Office Space

I love this movie. It reminds me of why I hated the cube life at GE and don't wantto go the corporate route if I can help it. I would pay good money to have 5 minutes with one of the office copy machines. That may be some of the best 90 seconds in cinema history. Has anyone else really picked up on Milton's ramblings? I think I want to get a new job now...I am getting that disgruntled feeling now just because...oh and all that other stuff I bitch about periodically.
