8000 Ft

The somewhat Short and Sweet of it as little was monumental.

Arrived in Denver about 8 MST sat on runway for a whole, finally deplanned and was in Vail about 3 hours later after getting luggage, finding the shuttle and making the 2+ hour drive/ride. Got to sleep around midnight (2 AM EST).
Got up on Satruday did the ski rental thing, eventually hit the slops and skied some of the best runs of the trip that afternoon. Went to dinner at an overrated Italian place. Good food but not good enough to justify the prices. Long day, short on sleep from week, hit the sack (pullout couch).
Sunday, skied afternoon again, went to dinner at Mexican place that was good on previous trip. Service sucked, food was average, I started drinking prior to dinner and kept pace right on through. Stayed out and hit The Club (owned by same crowd as Buckhead Saloons here and ATL). Met a few people from Univ of Chicago's MBA program. They organized a 100 person trip at a good rate for post exam celebration. Good to be them I guess. I went to another place for a while with a crappy comedian, then back to the Club. I forgot I was at 8000 feet and that alcohol really screws you up fast at that elevation. Made it back to the Condo without spending tons of cash or a police escort. According to fam, I came in about 4AM as older sister was up at 3:30 and said I wasn't in, and step mom said she heard me come up the steps. I remember seeing 1ish on my watch in the little sitting area down the hall. I remember waking up in said sitting areas overstuffed chair. My recollection was I got too drunk and didn't wantto go in with fam possibly still awake. Regardless, I landed in the dog house.
Monday I got up and hit the mountain with everyone else. Was fine until I ate some pizza and had a Gatorade at the lodge about 10000 ft. Elevation, sugar, grease, and a tender stomach are bad. Made a run in a back bowl with the siblings. tons of powder, crap for visibility. We didn't like it and my stomach kicked back anything liquid shortly after I topped back up and got to the lodge. I was thankful it stayed in. The bathroom attendants hate me though. Next time they will have more stalls open so the stank smell that puts you over the edge can be combatted with a place for relief other than the corne

um, Tuesday was my sister turning an ankle a trip to the l'hopital for precautionary xrays, my brother busting his nonse and spotting "Expresso" with blood, all of us leaving the slopes early and another great meal. Wednesday was an early morning, boring flights and and arrival back east around 4 PM and dinner with some friends. Woo Hoo.
